Program Overview
The Margo F. Souza Leadership Center's Chancellor's Ambassadors Program cultivates a select group of 6–8 student leaders who represent the excellence, diversity, and potential of UC Merced. Chancellor's Ambassadors serve as official student representatives at major campus functions, alumni gatherings, VIP visits, donor events, and external engagements, reinforcing the university's mission, vision, and community impact.
The program is rooted in the values of leadership, service, and institutional pride, creating a dynamic bridge between students and the broader UC Merced community. Selected students work 6–8 hours per week.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for appointment as a Chancellor's Ambassador, students must meet all of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled UC Merced undergraduate or graduate student
- At least one academic year remaining at time of appointment
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Good student conduct standing
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of a DMV pull and background check
