Distinguished Leadership Award
The Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes an undergraduate student who demonstrated exceptional leadership during the most recent academic year. This award honors individuals whose leadership actions created a clear and positive impact on the UC Merced campus and/or the broader UC Merced community.
Recipients of this award have taken intentional steps to lead others through collaboration, initiative, and teamwork. These individuals have inspired peers, strengthened community engagement, and contributed meaningfully to the culture and values of UC Merced. More than one recipient may be selected.
Award Criteria
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership through specific actions, initiatives, or roles during the past academic year.
- Made a clear and positive impact on UC Merced and/or the UC Merced community.
- Led others through teamwork, collaboration, and shared responsibility.
- Encouraged engagement, inclusion, and participation among peers.
- Exhibited integrity, accountability, and a commitment to positive change.
Eligibility
Nominees must be current undergraduate students at UC Merced. Leadership activities must have occurred during the most recent academic year.
Nomination Information
Students, faculty, staff, and members of the UC Merced community are encouraged to submit nominations. Self-nominations are permitted, and individuals may also nominate another undergraduate student whose leadership deserves recognition.
