UC Merced Legacy Leadership Award
The UC Merced Legacy Leadership Award recognizes a student graduating during the 2025–2026 academic year (undergraduate or graduate) who epitomizes the best of leadership within the UC Merced community through actions consistent with the University’s Principles of Community.
These principles include upholding a culture of dialogue and civility through civic engagement and environmental stewardship, celebrating diverse identities, values, and beliefs, and affirming the dignity of every individual. The recipient of this award is someone whose actions and ideals, demonstrated throughout their time at UC Merced, will leave a lasting and positive impact on the institution while raising the standard of excellence for future generations.
Criteria to Consider
- Engaged in meaningful activities throughout their entire college career that will have a lasting positive impact on the UC Merced community.
- Demonstrated actions aligned with the University’s Principles of Community, including championing civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and efforts that connect learning, research, and practice.
- Must be graduating during the 2025–2026 academic year.

Nomination applications are due Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM.

Students, faculty, staff, and members of the UC Merced community are invited to submit nominations. Self-nominations are permitted for this award.
