Emerging Leader Award
The Emerging Leader Award recognizes first-year and first-year transfer students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative, and impact during their inaugural year at UC Merced. These individuals embody the spirit of innovation, dedication, and service, contributing meaningfully to the campus community through their actions, involvement, and influence.
This award celebrates the promise and potential of emerging leaders who inspire others and demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive impact at UC Merced. Recipients exemplify leadership qualities that indicate continued growth and engagement throughout their academic journey.
Criteria to Consider
- The nominee is a first-year or first-year transfer student.
- The nominee has demonstrated initiative during their inaugural year at UC Merced.
- The nominee demonstrates promise and potential as a continuing student leader at UC Merced.

Nomination applications are due Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Nomination Information
Students, faculty, staff, and members of the UC Merced community are encouraged to submit nominations. Self-nominations are accepted for this award.
