Leadership & Service Living Learning Community | (1-year program)

The Leadership & Service Living Learning Community is open to first-year students willing to commit themselves to explore and develop their own leadership skills and style, understand personal values, and learn how to ethically and effectively engage with the local community. Weekly engagement is expected. This program is a partnership with the UC Merced Community Engagement Center.
Lift While You Lead | (Semester-long program)

Lift While You Lead (LWYL) connects UC Merced students with high school students in Merced and the surrounding Central Valley. Participants serve as mentors in Women’s Studies classrooms, fostering leadership, education, and health-focused growth through supportive mentoring relationships.

Become a Best You, Best Future Mentor! In partnership with local school districts, UC Merced students support 6th graders through campus visits, workshops, and mentorship. Volunteers must complete a training to participate and will help empower local youth through education and leadership.
